“When goals and dreams are your own and not dictated to you, individuals are much more motivated to realize them.”

Why Sapphire Canada?
It began as a career choice. Today it's not just my job, it's my life. People inevitably have different interests and motivations in life and the greatest trait of Sapphire is embracing individuality without compromising the greater good. Sapphire provides for people to chase their dreams by making the organization's goals personal. When goals and dreams are your own and not dictated to you, individuals are much more motivated to realize them. This is likely why we have the lowest turnover of any recruiting agency I'm aware of and why we surpass corporate milestones.

What do you do every day?
The role of Account Manager has me focused daily on the development of net new client relationships and the further enhancement of existing client relations. This includes cold calling for new potential business while simultaneously managing existing contractual and permanent searches for a wide range of clients. These clients range from insurance, financial, food & beverage, manufacturing, utility, mining, and consumer electronics industries. Recently I have also begun Account Management Team Leadership responsibilities mentoring new additions to our team ensuring all Sapphire client's continue to receive superior service.

What you do outside of Sapphire Canada?
Besides being a superior cook, husband, and snow shoveller my off time hours are often spent playing sports. Sapphire Canada has a hockey team that plays Wednesday evenings and I play shinny with friends from my home town of Barrie. When the weather permits client golf is also very high on my list of priorities as well but Golden Tee suffices during winter months. If basketball is your sport, I'm always looking for a new challenge.

Favorite thing about Sapphire Canada?
Networking. Of course being employed with Canada's largest provider of IT staffing solutions inherently involves extensive networking. However, I went one step further and networked myself a wife.

“This is the only company that I would willingly take on a 3-hour round trip commute everyday to work for.”

Why Sapphire Canada?
Before coming to Sapphire in 2004, I really did my research on what IT Recruiting Agency I wanted to take the next step of my career to. I interviewed with several other agencies, but I kept comparing them to what Sapphire was offering. Looking back on that decision, I have no doubt that coming to work for Sapphire Canada was among the best decisions I have ever made in my life. This is the only company that I would willingly take on a 3-hour round trip commute everyday to work for.

What you do every day:
My title is Resource Manager - basically I try to find/search, interview and represent the best IT resources I can find. Then when one of our clients has a need for their skills (contract or full-time), I present those openings to these IT Resources. If they would like to be considered for these positions, I work with them to get their resume written in the best possible way, and present the resume to our client. Then if there is a request, I book the interview times and work with my candidate to get them fully prepared for each interview. If an offer is extended to them, my job is to negotiate the best possible offer for them and have the offer paperwork ready for signing. There is obviously a lot more to my everyday job, but that is a quick overview of my normal tasks.

What you do outside of Sapphire Canada:
I have many hobbies, but if I were to focus on one of them - I am an avid Golfer. Give me a sunny day in the summer and you'll know where to find me.

Favourite thing about Sapphire Canada?
No question - the people. I have worked for a few other IT recruiting agencies in my career, but the level of professionalism and energy of the staff within Sapphire Canada makes me want to come into work everyday, and work hard. They keep my competitive nature alive!

“I can honestly say that I enjoy coming into work everyday. We are unified and work as a team.”

Why Sapphire Canada?
Why, because everyone at Sapphire is valued as an individual.
Sapphire appreciates everyone as an individual. It doesn't matter what your  job title is, everyone is treated equally and with respect. That is why I have chosen to be a part of Sapphire and their successful team. There is no "I" in TEAM and Sapphire Canada represents the true meaning of the word TEAM!

What you do every day:
I am proud member of the Contract Admin. Team. I work on the Billing and Reporting side. My daily duties are to review the bill side of the startfiles as they come in, enter and update purchase orders on a ongoing basis, check and process expenses, Enter timesheets, manual invoicing and much much more…

What you do outside of Sapphire Canada:
Outside of Sapphire, I enjoy spending quality time with my son and all our loved ones. Being outdoors and staying active keeps my mind young and full of life.  Family is very important to me. Throughout my life I have learned that everyday needs to be lived to the fullest and this is my life motto!

Favourite thing about Sapphire Canada?
My favourite thing about Sapphire Canada is the people.

From the first moment that I walked through the front doors of Sapphire Canada I was greeted with a smile and a warm feeling. As each day has gone by, the warmth that I felt has developed into stability and comfort. The people here at Sapphire Canada are like family. One word that comes to mind every time I think of the people and here is, "UNITED". I can honestly say that I enjoy coming into work everyday. We are unified and work as a team. I strongly believe that one of the best feelings in the world when you leave work on a daily basis feeling content and good about what you have accomplished that day, whether it be helping the people you work side by side with, or clients that have thanked you for your patience and help.
